First of all, I am talking clean as in non-toxic not clean as in not messy. Because, wow, my kids can right now can turn a freshly cleaned room into toy-mageddon faster than I can blink sometimes.

I don’t think my start on this cleaner (more natural) home journey is unique.

I remember, before Evee was born, picking out a specific brand of baby shampoo that was supposed to be cleaner and more natural. SUPPOSED to be being the key word because, as it turns out, I had fallen prey to some stellar marketing of a not so stellar product. A quick scan using the Think Dirty app (and if you don’t know what that is you should check it out) revealed that this product in fact contained a lot of things that I didn’t want on my tiny baby.

That was the catalyst to reducing the amount of chemicals and synthetic products that we use and replacing them with more natural options. I am in no way perfect and have not replaced everything yet but I am on a journey to learning more and to replacing what I can, as I can.

So here is what I have done so far to clean up my home.

Like I said, my home isn’t perfect and we are still on a journey but I believe that little actions add up to big results so I am committed to continuing. And it is SO worth any inconvenience to know that my babies aren’t being exposed to products that can harm them.

Up next, a body wash and shampoo / conditioner option for me. And I should probably take a look at my makeup bag.
