This past summer we did a bucket list for our family and we had so much FUN!
At the beginning of the summer I sat down with Evee and we wrote down a big list of things that sounded like fun for the summer. Some where big things that we already new we were going to do, like going to the cottage and Michael’s brothers wedding, and some were just random things things we could do any day of the week like riding our bikes or having a picnic at the park. Throughout the next week we chatted about the ideas with the rest of the family and added anything else we could think of.
Now, this is the point in the post where I remind you that YOU are the parent and as such you probably will need to lay down the ground rules and redirect a few ideas. For example, Evee wanted ‘go to the zoo’ on the list and I agreed we could add it BUT we might not get to everything on the list and that would be ok. I think she also said ‘go to Disneyland’ and that one I just said a straight…’no, unfortunately we won’t be doing that this summer!’ 🤣
I loved having this little list of ideas because it helped us to do new things and not just the same old going to the park every evening (which we also love!) and it gave us stuff to look forward to throughout the summer. And no, we didn’t get everything checked off our list and that is OK! The point is to be intentional with creating fun and joy and not perfection!
We are excited to make a new bucket list of fun for the fall season. I think we will add things like ‘go apple picking’ and ‘go to the fair’ and probably ‘drink hot apple cider’. I have created a fall bucket list printable that you can use to make your own list. You can download it by clicking the link below.
Go have some fun! And please tag me on Instagram (@sarahadema) if you use my bucket list! I want to see all the memories you are making with your family this season!
