This past season has been rough…for everyone.
Living through a global pandemic is so many things. Stressful. Uncertain. Frustrating. Daunting. Exhausting. Anxiety Inducing. Boring. Lonely. Overwhelming.
We are being bombarded with causes and conspiracy theories and hurt and pain and fear on every side of us and its A LOT.
I have found myself spiralling into worry and anxiety. Swinging from, this is fine and its so great to have Michael working from home to OMG all those conspiracy theories are real, what kind of world did I bring my kids into.
And I know I am not alone. (I also recognize that I have had it GOOD this pandemic compared to so many others.)
Reading my Bible and spending time with Jesus always brings so much peace and perspective. But with everything happening I have been finding it hard to find time where I am a) not surrounded by kids asking for snacks or b) not tired from a busy day of work and kids.
And, yes, this is totally an excuse and I should be able to find time for whats important to me blah, blah, blah but let’s be real here…I’ve been trying and it’s not working so it’s time to take a new approach in this season.
So I decided to try something new to get more Bible into me and created some super simple scripture cards with some verses that have been speaking to me lately!
I am going to keep them posted by the sink in the kitchen so I can take a second to pause and read as I am going by my day. The goal is to keep scripture on my heart and worry off of it.
If you would like to try this as well you can print the ones I made below or simply write your favourite verses on some paper and keep them close. I would love to know what verses you pick!
